I love finding free, useful resources on the web - so here are some resources I’ve created over time for my classroom.

Classroom Organization

• Makeup Assignments - When students are absent, it can be a hassle to remember missed work. Keep this sheet on an absent student’s desk throughout the day, and at the end of the day you can collect all the assignments that have been left for him or her, write them down and assign and due date. This helps you, the student, and parents keep track!
• Chaperone Information Flyer - Sending home this quick flyer of information about upcoming field trips saves you countless phone calls and questions later. Make extra copies, send them home to your chaperones before the trip, and you’re covered!

Language Arts

• Spelling Sticklers - While I know rote memorization is not the touchstone of any spelling program, every student gets a word “stuck” incorrectly in their brains from time to time. This is when the Stickler comes in! Students write the offending word multiple times on this sheet, and hopefully “unstick” their minds from the incorrect spelling. I usually only use this for high frequency words that the student really should know already. In third grade, typical words might be “have”, “went”, or “don’t”.

Math

• 5 Facts Clock - Use a clock to introduce or review the x5 facts!
  
• Who’s Greater? - Students work on place value in this partner activity.
  
• Multiplication Facts Book - With a page for each number, this multiplication book helps introduce students to the facts!
• Missing Addends - This partner game helps students with missing addends computation.
• Measurement Rounding - Practice measurement and rounding skills at the same time by measuring objects in the classroom and then rounding them to the nearest inch or centimeter.
• Double Dare Dice - Practice your doubles facts with this dice game.
• 100’s Chart Patterns
• Greater Than / Less Than - Students use dice to practice greater than and less than.
• Flip Flop Facts - Teach students the commutative property by having them play this math game.

Social Studies

• Communities Packet - As a culminating activity on communities, students created their own rural, urban, or suburban community. This packet helps the student group organize their community, plan for its goods and services, resources, and layout. Also includes a rubric for evaluation.
  

Science

• Simple Machines Homework - Encourage students to apply what they have learned about simple machines by finding examples of them at home!
• Researching Rocks! - This is a great independent activity. Collect books and articles about rocks, and then give students this sheet to help them organize what they learn about the three forms of rocks.
• Push and Pull Homework - Get students thinking about force by asking them to find ten ways they push or pull at home.
• Forms of Energy Booklet - Cut apart these two sheets to make an 8 page booklet. Each page tells about a different form of energy. After learning about these forms, you can use the renewable/non-renewable sheet to help sort these forms.
  
• Renewable and Non-Renewable Resources - After reading the Energy Booklet, students can cut the side tabs off each page and sort them on this sheet based on whether they are renewable or non-renewable forms of energy.
